I’ve been wanting to make a smaller kind of bag for a while now, something big enough to fit in the essentials but still small and easy to carry around.
My leather supplier had some lovely soft grey suede in this week, so I bought a piece and here’s the result.

I’ve been road testing it this weekend and I’m pleased with it. The suede is so soft and strokeable!! I’ve never done any kind of fringing on my bags before either so it was fun to give it a go on this, whilst still keeping the bag quite simple.
The colours are a little bleached in this photo. it doesn’t show the grey as well as it could, but it’s just a quick shot I took this morning.
Anyway, I wanted to try a couple of variations on this style so I bought a couple more pieces of suede, one black and one tan, and a really thin tan leather too, so I can make up a couple more. The fabric shop had some really cool indian style cottons in too, so Im going to give those a go as linings.
